Herbs to boost immunity


Natural herbs are very good to enhance the immunity. Ancient acharayas are using these herbs since centuries. Some of them are listed below - 
  • Neem: It is very good antiseptic. These leaves are beneficial to cure skin problems. Neem tea improves indigestion, constipation and can reduce acidity as well.
  • Tulsi (Holy Basil): The leaves of the holy basil plant are instrumental for coughs, sore throats, mouth infection, skin problems, headaches and boosting immunity.
  • Amla (Indian Gooseberry): It lowers cholesterol; checks excess blood sugar, improve blood circulation, maintains digestion and alleviates constipation. 
  • Turmeric - It is believed to reduce arthritis, asthma attacks, colds, cancer, diabetes and inflammation.
  • Ginger - Besides building immunity, ginger is beneficial for absorbing nutrients in the body, opening sinus, reducing inflammation and chest congestion.
  • Garlic - The immune-boosting properties of garlic are due to its sulfur-containing compounds, such as allicin and sulfides. It is very good antioxidant that reduces free radicals in the bloodstream.
  • Ashwagandha - Besides improving your immunity, ashwagandha is beneficial for re- energizing the body and slowing down the aging process. Make a powder of the root and consume it with cup of milk.
  • Giloy (Tinospora Cordifolia) - To giloy juice, we can add neem and amla for skin problems. Giloy is quite effective in eliminating toxins from the body. It is very well known immunity booster.
  • Mulethi ( Liquorice) – It is very good to  rejuvenate body. Prepare a mixture of powdered mulethi root and add honey and ghee to it.
  • Triphala (Combination of three herbs :Harad ,Bahera and Amla)-  It can be taken daily to cleanse and tone the large intestine, helping to keep the body free of ama which is considered as a main cause to lower down the immunity and cause illness.
