Three vital essence of life

Summarize three main ingredients of vitality (Three vital essence of life)
Ojas, Tejas and Prana is three vital essence of human life. We cannot think of life without their proper co-ordination in the body. They are the mandatory components of a life to sustain.
Ojas - Ojas is vital essence in every cell. It is created at the birth of the tissue and every tissue has the ability to make ojas. If a person has a healthy skin & flesh, it signifies good amount of ojas and resistance to disease. Ojas can be seen in all aspects of the body. Ojas brings mental stability and peace of mind. Strong fertility is a sign of healthy ojas. Food that is high in ojas also feeds the genital organs too. Foods that build ojas in body include clarified butter, rice, milk, sugar and almonds. Ojas can be depleted in body by lack of self care, sense of insecurity, over-exertion and unusual weight loss. Ojas also depends on the strength of one’s agni (digestive fire), if it is compromised, then the amount of ojas will be depleted as the nourishment will be reduced. When there is a healthy deposits of ojas, the immunity is maintained and the body is capable of fighting disease. Ojas is required for healthy body and mind.
Tejas –Tejas means fire and radiance in body. It is the intelligence of our body and mind. It directs the use of energy, including thoughts, digestion, immunity and all kinds of metabolic activities. A healthy level of tejas can be seen in one’s clarity of mind, insight, courage and compassion. Tejas in our body deals with the hormones and other chemical messengers. It controls metabolism at cellular level. When this natural intelligence of body (to secrete hormones, chemicals, digestive juices, amino acids etc) becomes occluded due to injury or toxicity then tejas can be blocked. Tejas brings radiance, glow, aura and luster in one’s eye.
Prana - Prana is the vital life force or life breath and is the subtle essence of vata or air element.  Prana is the usable energy directed by tejas and provisioned by ojas. It can be compared to oxygen flow in the body. Oxygen is also form of prana because oxygen helps us convert food into energy. The heart is the seat of prana from where it is distributed in whole body and spread vitality in body. The reserves of prana can be increased by performing pranayam which leads to good health of mind and body.
Negative thinking depletes ojas, tejas and prana in body. So, we should develop positive approach in our life to be healthy. Being honest with our feelings and emotions help to build up and maintain ojas, tejas and prana.
Maintenance of ojas requires conservation of your vital energy (prana), as well as a healthy metabolism (tejas) to refine the quality of your fluids and tissues. All three are interlinked with each other. Ojas is the potential, stamina of mind and nervous system and it can hold tejas and prana.
