How to treat cancer according to Ayurveda

How should we treat cancer?

Cancer simply means uncontrollable cell growth. The type of cancer is classified by the cell which is initially affected.

The number of cancer patients is increasing day by day. Actually, the fact is that cancer is likely a man-made disease caused primarily by toxic overload. There is immense increase in industrlisation which has a great effect on the environment and our lifestyle. Surroundings have become more toxic and hazardous to health. Our lifestyle has also been changed. So, the air we breathe, water we drink and fruits - vegetables we eat are getting poisonous. Altered food habits and sleeping schedule disturbs the proper functioning of body. So, as time goes on, ama (toxins) gets accumulated in body and clogs the microcirculatory channels and blood supply is disturbed. Hence, essential requirements of body are not fulfilled. Oxygen (prana) does not reach to all parts of body.

The basic cause of the formation of cancer in the body is ama (toxins). On the same time, when the ojas (immunity-power to fight diseases) is diminished to such a level that excess toxins give rise to mutations in the genes and lead to cancer. As the toxins keep on spreading in the body, it leads to the spread of cancer cells also.

Do you know from where this ama (toxins) is produced?
This ama (toxins) is produced from improper metabolism and keeps on accumulating in the body. We should attack the root cause of the disease and adopt all measures to improve the metabolism. We should go on having proper diet in adequate amount at proper intervals so that our body is able to digest it. Moreover, following a disciplined lifestyle will enhance the metabolism at cellular level. Metabolism is improved by taking ginger, garlic, turmeric, cinnamon or many spices to our regular diet schedule. It will surely lessen the chances of toxins formation in the body. If small amount of toxins are formed, they are flushed out via excretory system. Excess toxins needs to be flush out of the body through various purification methods like panchkarma , shatvidh yoga karma etc.

Low ojas (weakened immunity) is another cause of cancer. We should try to improve immunity of an individual. Enhanced immunity will have positive effect on the vitality in the body. It will diminish toxic environment required for the growth of cancer cells in the body. Stress weakens the immune system. We should go for relaxation techniques to minimize the stress.

In the recent researches, it has been found that lack of oxygen in the body leads to cancer. Mutation occurs in genes at low oxygen environment. Cancer cells thrive well in anaerobic conditions. They live in oxygen deficient environment but cannot survive in the presence of high levels of oxygen. Oxygen deficiency provides proper environment for the growth of cancer cells
So, one should follow deep breathing exercises (pranayama), so that oxygen can nourish different parts of the body. This creates a reverse affect on cancer cells. Moreover, the prana(divine energy) is spread across the body with the help of pranayam . The body requires the divine energy to flourish well. In this way, nourishment of the body at its cellular level happens.

Cancer is a sign that our internal environment is disconnected to the external environment. A preventative approach to cancer can be understood quite simply, the more we live in harmony with the natural laws of life and the more we are taking in the life-enhancing gifts of nature. We should focus on to increase the ojas (essence of life) and diminish the ama (toxins) to get rid of this disease. It will considerably improve the quality of life in cancer patients.

Our line of treatment targets the metabolism and immunity of the individual. This leads to reduction in ama (toxins) which is cardinal cause of all diseases in the human body. Following this we can prevent ourselves from many more diseases too.
